Saadia Sultan is a global leader in government affairs and energy diplomacy and a member of the US NPC. Her work at Applio Ventures focuses on coverage of US economic policy and related energy developments.
Her distinguished career spans senior public and private sector roles, including leading international and federal government affairs at ExxonMobil and BHP Billiton. In these capacities, she advised on regulatory, geopolitical, and trade matters affecting the energy sector, while building strategic alliances with U.S. agencies, foreign governments, multilateral institutions, and global think tanks. In recognition of her leadership in the energy sector, Saadia was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Energy to the National Petroleum Council, a federal advisory body that informs national energy policy. She serves as the Houston Executive Director for Asian Americans in Energy, Environment, and Commerce, and holds affiliations with the American Pakistan Foundation, the Aspen Institute network, and the Houston Committee on Foreign Relations, a Council on Foreign Relations affiliate.
