John Davies

John is an economist and policy advisor with a track record of macro-economic, international trade and energy analysis. His work at Applio Ventures focuses on international energy trade, as well as Gulf-focused economic analysis.

With a Master’s in Economics from the London School of Economics and 15 years of experience, he has advised public and private sector clients on trade, investment, and macroeconomic trends. John’s career includes senior roles as a Managing Director at Fitch Solutions, where he helped shape the firm’s global trade, investment hotspot and risk scenario analysis. Before that, he worked as an economist at HM Treasury and at PwC. John leads North Shore Analysis, supporting clients ranging from international development banks to investment funds and UK-based institutions on policy and macro-economic analysis.
